Biography

Perri is a superb young talent who has shown immense capability since winning the English Schools title in a UK record time in 2005. She was made British team captain in 2006 at the World Juniors and in 2005 at the European Junior championships, and ranks as one of Great Britain’s fastest ever juniors over the 400mh. She was awarded the Canary Wharf Sports Personality of the year award in 2005.Despite winning the trials Perri Shakes-Drayton missed out on selection for the Beijing Games when Tasha Danvers was given the nod. Shakes-Drayton made her breakthrough with double bronze at the European Championships in 2010.
