Adams is Britain’s most successful ever female boxer and a history maker. At London 2012 she became the first ever woman to win Olympic boxing gold when she took victory in the flyweight class, before becoming the first female Commonwealth champion last summer. Nicola was also the first ever female boxing champion at both the Olympic and Commonwealth Games.

Previously she had claimed European Championship victory in 2011 and 2013, as well as winning three consecutive World Championship silver medals from 2008 through to 2012.

Born and bred in Leeds, Adams began boxing at the age of 12 and had her first bout a year later
