Biography

Michael Jamieson’s mother was a swimmer while his father played football for Alloa, Stenhousemuir and Hearts. He suffered a ruptured ATFL ligament in 2011 but recovered to finish fifth in the 200m breaststroke at the worlds that year. Jamieson booked an Olympic swim in the 200m with silver at the trials in March and was chosen as Daniel Sliwinski’s replacement in the 100m.

At the 2012 Olympics in London Jamieson won silver in the men's 200m breaststroke.
