As a junior Marco Loughran trained at British Swimming’s Offshore Centre in Queensland while he also studied and swam at the University of Florida. He returned to the UK in January this year to prepare for London 2012 – booking his place in the 200m backstroke with silver at the second Olympic trials in June.
