Biography

Lizzie Armitstead’s breakthrough on the road came in the 2008-9 season with a stage win in the Tour de l’Ardeche and she wore the white jersey in the Giro d’Italia.

In 2012 she won both the Omloop van het Hageland and the Gent-Wevelgem races.

At the 2012 Olympics in London, Armitstead won silver in the women's road race.
