  • Date of Birth 11/03/1991
  • Born Stirling

Lauren started curling at 8, and her first big opportunity was being selected for the Youth Olympic Games in 2009 in her final year of High School.  Her curling career picked up when she won gold at those games. After winning the World Championships as alternate with Eve Muirhead at the start of the year, Lauren completed her university degree over the summer.  On the same day she was formally selected for Sochi, she graduated with a 2:1 in English Literature and Politics from Glasgow University.

Lauren’s hobbies include going to the gym, spending time with friends and travelling. Her sporting heroes would include Jessica Ennis and Andy Murray. She cites Ennis because of the class she exuded in her skill and attitude throughout the London 2012 Olympics, and Murray because he grew up in a village close to her home town and has mastered his sport on the World and Olympic stage.

Previous Games: EYOF 2009 Gold (position: 2nd), World Uni Games Gold 2011 (Position: third), World Junior Champion 2012, World Champion 2013 (as alternate for Eve Muirhead)
