Jo Jackson was the only other swimmer aside from Rebecca Adlington to win a medal in the pool at the Beijing Olympics in 2008 – collecting 400m freestyle bronze behind her British teammate.She struggled with asthma-related injuries following the winter of 2009, fearing she wouldn’t reach the London Games, but silver in the 400m at the trials in March secured her place.Jackson is the younger sister of Nicola Jackson – who won world 4x200m freestyle relay gold in 2001 and who swam at the Sydney Olympics the year before.
