Biography

Jemma Lowe made her Olympic debut at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. IN Beijing she came sixth in the 100m butterfly, nineth in the 200m butterfly and as part of the relay team which came fourth in the 4x100 medley relay. At the 2009 World Championships Lowe compete in the 50m butterfly and placed 26th. At the 2008 World Short Course Championships in Manchester Lower took two seconds off 100m butterfly British Record in winning bronze. Leading up to the Beijing Games she was studying for GCSEs. Lowe made her international senior debut for Wales at the 2006 Commonwealth Games. To date Lowe's biggest career disappointment was in 2002 when having qualified for National Championships, was unable to compete because of broken toe, sustained by catching it in the hole at the bottom of a plant pot.Jemma Lowe booked an Olympic swim in the 200m butterfly with silver behind Ellen Gandy, her room-mate at the 2011 World Championships, at the trials in March. She attended the University of Florida between 2008 and 2010 and her sister Naomi appeared on X Factor in 2011.
