Laugher made his Olympic debut at London 2012, finishing 27th in the 3m springboard event.

The City of Leeds diver announced himself on the international stage in 2014, winning two golds and a silver at the Commonwealth Games and backed this up with double bronze at the 2015 World Championships, in the 3m springboard and 3m synchro, alongside Mears.

Following successes in Rio, the Ripon diver narrowly missed out on medalling at the 2017 World Championships, before bouncing back to his best at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Laugher scooped triple gold on the Gold Coast, winning the 1m and 3m springboard and the 3m synchro alongside Mears.

His fine form continued in at the 2018 European Championships, winning his second and third European gold medals in the 1m and 3m springboard. Laugher capped off the Edinburgh competition with a silver alongside Mears.
