Greg Cackett only joined the GB Bobsleigh set up in 2016 after, like many before him, making the switch from elite level athletics.
With a best time over 100m of 10.24s and a best 60m effort of 6.65s, Cackett put that speed to good use when making his GB Bobsleigh debut in the Europe Cup in Koenigssee, Germany, in December 2016.
He made the World Championship squad in his first season on the ice and won his first medal when pushing Brad Hall, Joel Fearon and Bruce Tasker to bronze at a World Cup in Park City, USA, in November 2017.
His rise to the top of the sport was complete when he competed in his first Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang in 2018.
Forming a team with Hall, Fearon and Nick Gleeson, the four-man bobsleigh team finished in 17th position, clocking an overall time of 3:18.26.
