The current Olympic champion and formerly a World and European champion, Mckeever, who competes in the K1 200m, is one Britain’s most successful ever sprint canoeists.

 

He has won five World Cup gold medals and is also a five-time World Championship medallist and was rewarded for his services to the sport when he was awarded an MBE in 2013.

 

The 32-year-old, who is also a part-time accountant, ranks his Olympic gold as the biggest achievement of his career.

 

He will be competing at the inaugural European Games at Baku 2015.
