Having been born in Bath and having lived in Bradford on Avon in Wiltshire, Ed McKeever first announced himself on the international canoe slalom scene by winning K1 200m gold at both the World and European Canoe Sprint Championships in 2010.

Ed ensured his place as one of Britain’s most successful ever sprint canoeists by winning K1 200m gold at the 2012 Olympics in London.

He was awarded an MBE for his services to kayaking in 2013 before claiming a pair of World Championship bronzes, in the K1 200m and K1 4x200m, in 2014 and also striking bronze at the inaugural European Games in Baku in 2015.
