Originally a 200m and 400m sprinter, Bruce Tasker didn’t start competing in bobsleigh until 2010, when due to his physical attributes he was encouraged to try the sport by GBR1 driver John Jackson. He instantly fell in love with it, finishing in sixth position in his debut race. Since this, he has achieved multiple podium finishes; most notably fifth place at the 2012-13 World Championships and Olympic test event in Sochi.
Tasker graduated from the University of Bath with an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry, where he achieved a 2:1. Throughout his time at University he was able to continue his sprint training which saw him win multiple titles as a junior. This training proved essential in securing his place within the Team GB Bobsleigh squad.
The Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games marked his Olympic debut.
