Biography

Andrew Smith made his Olympic debut at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. He competed in the badminton men's singles. Smith was introduced to badminton when he was seven years old by his mum and dad. He made his international debut in 2003 at the World Championships. Smith won the New Zealand International in 2004, the Australian International in 2004 and 2005, and also the Croatian International and the Vietnam Open in 2006. In 2008, he made it into the quarter-finals of India Open and semifinals of Singapore Super Series. Smith is currently England’s number one singles player.
