William Fox-Pitt is straight back in action this week after claiming bronze at the European Eventing Championships in Malmo; we preview a flavour of what’s going on in the world of Olympic sport over the next seven days below.
Three-time Olympic medallist, silver from London 2012 and Athens 2004 and bronze from Beijing 2008, Fox-Pitt took individual European bronze in Sweden aboard Chilli Morning while Britain finished sixth as a team.
But there will be little rest for the 44-year-old as he is scheduled to ride at the Burghley Horse Trials this weekend aboard Neuf des Coeurs and Parklane Hawk as well as Chilli Morning.
Elsewhere the track and field season nears its close with the Diamond League finale in Brussels while sailing’s Laser class continues with its European and World Championships.
It is a big week for Britain’s men’s basketball team as they get their campaign at the EuroBasket underway against Israel in Slovenia with France, Belgium and Germany to follow before the week is out.
