It’s an action-packed week of winter sports with Eve Muirhead and Dave Murdoch continuing to lead the home charge as we give a flavour of what’s taking place over the next seven days.
Britain’s skips for Sochi 2014 Muirhead and Murdoch will see the European Curling Championships come to a head in Norway, where they’re competing as Scotland, in their last major pre-Olympic test.
British biathletes Kevin Kane and Lee Jackson will open their World Cup campaign in Oestersund as will their skeleton and bobsleigh counterparts in the city that hosted the 1988 Games, Calgary.
Shelley Rudman starts as the world champion in the women’s skeleton while British bobsleigh pilot John Jackson is set to race just over four months after suffering a serious-looking Achilles injury.
The cross-country skiing World Cup also begins in Finland with there Nordic combined and ski jumping also in Kuusamo and speed skating in Astana and luge in Winterberg.
TJ Baldwin and Dougie Crawford are also set to take to the slopes in the downhill and Super G as the men’s alpine skiing World Cup takes in Lake Louise.
