This Week in Olympic Sport: June 17-22

Athletics continues to take centre stage this week with the European Team Championships set for Braunschweig in Germany and here’s a look at the Olympic sports happening this week.

Olympic champions Mo Farah and Greg Rutherford have just been announced on England’s team for next month’s Commonwealth Games with the latter part of a youthful squad for the European Team Championships.

There’s also continental action in triathlon with their European Championships taking place in Kitzbuhel in Austria while Britain’s women’s basketball team march on in pursuit of their own major tournament outing.

They play their fourth and fifth matches of the latest stage of the 2015 EuroBasket qualifiers and the next legs of rowing and canoe slalom’s World Cups are set for Aiguebelette in France and Prague respectively.

Maribor plays host to the latest shooting World Cup, water polo’s World League Super Final lands in Dubai, there’s a European Marathon Cup in swimming taking place in Balatonfured in Hungary and sailing’s Kieler Woche regatta gets under way.
