William Fox-Pitt successfully defended the CCI three-star title with a comfortable victory at Tattersalls International Horse Trials near Dublin on Sunday.

The Dorset-based world number one triumphed on Bay My Hero, winning by four clear penalties despite having one fence down in the showjumping finale.

Ireland's Sarah Ennis, riding Sugar Brown Babe, finished second, with Fox-Pitt's Great Britain colleague Polly Stockton third aboard Westwood Mariner.

Camilla Speirs ensured an Irish victory in the CCI three-star class, guiding Portersize Just a Jiff to an emphatic success from Ireland's Aoife Clark in second, while Australian Christopher Burton landed both the CCI one- and two-star sections on Graf Liberty and Underdiscussion, respectively.
