Olympic champion Laura Trott is on track to claim another medal at the track cycling World Championships in Colombia.
Trott, part of the British gold medal quartet in the women's team pursuit, lies second after three events in the women's omnium, six points behind defending champion, the USA's Sarah Hammer.
However, there was disappointment for Great Britain's sprinters, Jess Varnish lost her sprint semi-final and bronze medal races while former champion Jason Kenny was eliminated in the men's sprint quarter-finals.
"I feel a little bit behind the top runners," Kenny told britishcycling.org.uk.
"It's fractions. Unfortunately we're at the wrong end of those fractions. We want to be fractions in front instead of fractions behind."
Varnish, who had beat team-mate and defending champion Becky James in the quarter-finals, lost in two straight rides against China's Zhong Tianshi in her semi-final.
And she also lost both her rides in the bronze medal race with China's Lin Jonhing, as Germany's Kristina Vogel went on to beat Zhong in the final.
"It's disappointing not to be on the podium," admitted Varnish.
"I thought it was going to be doable today but it just wasn't there for me."
Elsewhere, Ed Clancy admitted fifth was the 'best he could do' after the concluding event of the men's omnium, while team pursuit world champion Katie Archibald finished an impressive fourth in the women's points race.
After four days of racing, Great Britain have won two golds and a bronze and the championships conclude on Sunday with further medal chances in the women's omnium and keirin and men's madison.
