Trott moves clear

Laura Trott led the women's omnium after four events at the Track Cycling World Championships in Melbourne.

The 19-year-old team pursuit world champion and world record holder clocked three minutes 31.789 seconds to place third in the three-kilometre individual pursuit.

Australia's Annette Edmondson, who had held the joint overnight lead with the Briton, was fourth in the discipline to slip one point behind with two events remaining.

Tara Whitten of Canada was third overall, eight points behind Trott.
