Today’s Team GB medal hopes

Nicole Cooke will defend her Cycling road race Gold medal today alongside Lizzie Armistead and Lucy Martin as they look to deliver Team GB’s first cycling medal of the London Games.

Also, in the Judo 2011 European Bronze Medallist Colin Oates faces Australian Ivo Dos Santos in the -66kg weight category. While Sophie Cox, also a European Bronze Medallist in 2011 meets North Korea’s Kum Aein Am in the -52 weight category.

Competing in the Swimming are the Men’s 4x100m freestyle relay team of Adam Brown, Simon Burnett, James Disney-May and Craig Gibbons. Heats take place in the morning session, with the final taking place later in the day.

Team GB men’s footballers are in action again as they play their second group stage match against the United Arab Emirates at Wembley today. Pearce’s side will be looking to build on their draw against Senegal as they seek to progress into the next round of the competition.

Badminton mixed doubles pair Chris Adcock and Imogen Bankier need to secure victory against Germany today after they lost their opening match yesterday. The pair needs to win their next two games in order to make sure of their progress to the next round, where it turns into a knockout stage.

Synchronised 3m springboard Divers Alicia Blagg and Rebecca Gallantree will compete in the final today and look to improve on their fifth place finish at the European Championships.

Skeet Shooter Elena Allen will make her second Olympic appearance today as she looks to match her performance of Silver at the European Championships seven years ago.
