Taylor the next Brit to advance at boxing worlds

London 2012 Olympian Josh Taylor is the second Brit through to the last 32 at the AIBA World Boxing Championships in Almaty.

The 22-year-old Commonwealth silver medallist defeated Akiel Outram of Trinidad and Tobago 3-0 to advance in the light welterweight category.

Scot Taylor, who reached the second round of the lightweight category at London 2012 last summer, joins Charlie Edwards in enjoying early success in Kazakhstan.

Fellow light welterweight Sam Maxwell is the next Brit in action on the second day in Almaty as he fights Dario Vangeli of Italy in his first-round bout
