Smith not named in British World weightlifting team

Commonwealth Games medallist Zoe Smith is not among the three athletes named in the British squad for next month's weightlifting World Championships in Poland.

London 2012 Olympians Jack Oliver and Natasha Purdue will be joined by Emily Godley, after all three met the qualification standards.

Swansea-based Perdue, 38, won the British Championships in July and will compete in the 69kg class.

Oliver, 22 and based in Leeds, also won the British title in the 85kg class with a total lift of 312kg.

Londoner, Godley, also 22, is the current English Champion after lifting a total of 190kg earlier this year.
