Smith leads the way for GB at Trampoline World Championships

Great Britain enjoyed a fine first day at the Trampoline World Championships, Emma Smith shining brightest in qualifying in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Smith scored 101.305 to place fourth in qualifying, seeing her progress comfortably into the semi-finals which then sees the top 24 cut down to the final eight.

And Smith will be joined in the semi-finals by Kat Driscoll, who finished qualifying in seventh, and Laura Gallagher, who was tenth.

However, despite her performance enough to see her placed 12th, British champion Bryony Page does not advance with the top three from each country going through.

But all is not lost for Page as the quartet currently sit second in the team rankings following a fine opening day.

In the men’s competition Luke Strong scored 103.970 to finish qualifying in 13th to advance to the individual semi-finals, with team-mates Bradley Hampson and Kayvon Arasteh finishing 37th and 42nd respectively.
