Second win for British women

Great Britain's women's basketball team have stormed to a second win of the Turkish International Foundation Tournament with an 81-65 victory over world number 12 side Argentina in Istanbul.

Britain, who opened their tournament with a crushing 113-86 win against world ranked number nine side South Korea on Friday, kept that run going with a second win in as many days.

GB play hosts Turkey on Sunday in their third game in the tournament.

Jo Leedham scored 22 points, with GB outscoring Argentina 26-10 in the third quarter.

Coach Tom Maher said: "Terrific effort tonight. Defensively we really put the brakes on them, especially in the third quarter.

"We stayed really aggressive offensively and we had a lot of contributors, so it was a fine win."

Julie Page had nine rebounds and added: "We did a really good job today, I thought we played really well as a team. Everyone stepped up and played their role and I was really proud of us on both the offensive and defensive ends."

Britain trailed 14-7 before hitting back with a 10-0 run and went into the break level at 38-38.

But strong shooting performances from Natalie Stafford (14 points), Temi Fagbenle (13) and Chantelle Handy (12) meant Britain were able to pull away.
