Scotland reach curling final

Scotland will face Canada in the World Men's Curling Championship final on Sunday after a 7-6 semi-final win over Sweden in Basel.

Scotland earlier lost 7-6 to Canada in their first chance to reach the final after finishing second behind their opponents in the group stages.

Scottish skip Tom Brewster had a crucial hit and stay to take three points and put his team 5-2 up against the Swedes and then drew for two points before the Scots held out.

Brewster said: "That was nerve-wracking but I thought we played pretty solid. The guys played great and it's just amazing.

"We took heart from the fact that we only had two bad stones in the game against Canada."

Brewster, whose side lost to Canada in last year's final, added: "If we can get rid of the small mistakes we'll give them a game for sure."
