Randall and Federici ready to kickstart 2013 season

London Olympians Jenna Randall and Olivia Federici will compete for the first time since London 2012 at this weekend’s European Synchronised Swimming Champions Cup in Savona, Italy.

The British pair competed at the London Olympics in the duet event, reaching the final and finishing ninth.

And they will be reliving their capital adventure as they will perform their Olympic routines in the duet event in Italy, while Randall will also compete in the solo competition.

Having both recovered from minor injuries earlier this year, Randall and Federici are now ready to kickstart their international season which will culminate with the World Championships in Barcelona this summer.

The Champions Cup will also be former Japan and China head coach Masayo Imura’s first competition as coaching consultant to Randall and Federici since her appointment last month.

National Performance Director Biz Price commented: “This is the first time that this duet is competing internationally since the Olympics.

“There have been a couple of niggles that they have had since the Games which prevented them from competing previously but they have now recovered and are ready to go.

“It is going to be good to see where Jenna and Olivia are at this point in the season ahead of the World Championships.

“It is the first competition that Masayo is coaching at and I am looking forward to working alongside her again and see her make an impact on both the duet and solo routines.”
