Vicki Adams has expressed her delight at a new-look Eve Muirhead-led rink after they earned the right to bid to upgrade European silver to gold for Scotland next month.
Adams won Olympic bronze with skip Muirhead plus Anna Sloan and Claire Hamilton at the Sochi 2014 Games although the latter left the rink at the start of May.
Sarah Reid has come in and, at the women’s playdowns in Perth at the weekend, they emerged victorious for the right to represent Scotland in Champery next month.
At last year’s Europeans the Olympic bronze medal-winning rink, led by Muirhead and including Adams, lost to Margaretha Sigfridsson in the final to settle for silver.
But with Reid in for Hamilton, they will return in a bid to go one better next month and Adams was delighted with their outing at the women’s playdowns in Perth.
“We had a great weekend as a team,” she said. “It was our first big test as a ‘new’ team and we really rose to the occasion and sealed our place at the Europeans next month with an undefeated record.”
