Katherine Grainger releases book about her journey to Gold

On 3rd August 2012 the nation cheered Katherine Grainger to her long awaited Olympic gold medal on the water at Eton Dorney. For most people the immense achievement of winning three Olympic silver medals - in Sydney, Athens and Beijing - would have been enough. For Katherine Grainger, however, there was still the pull of the elusive gold medal to spur her on to compete again in London 2012. Her triumph in the women’s double sculls with her partner Anna Watkins, ranked as one of the signature moments of the Games.

Now for the first time, and in her own words, she tells the full inspiring story of her long road to Olympic gold.

Dreams Do Come True is the story of Katherine’s journey but also a book about the people who have helped, inspired and motivated her to reach the top. With a life long love of words, she was determined to tell her own story and to write of the people who have shared her journey. She is rare amongst sports people for writing every word of her autobiography herself without the help of a ghost writer. As proved time and time again, she likes a challenge!

Katherine Grainger’s autobiography is a story of dreams fulfilled, of bitter disappointments, laughter and tears, risk and daring and also a story of karate, guinea pigs and murder!

It is a story about daring to dream of great things and of believing that sometimes Dreams Do Come True.
