Jones looks to sew up London 2012 spot

Welsh teenager Jade Jones is looking to cement her place in the Team GB line-up for the 2012 Olympic Games with a strong showing at the European Championships on May 3-6 in Manchester.

Jones was part of the success world championship squad in Korea, winning a silver medal in the Far East and the 19-year-old is expected to earn selection for the under-57kg slot in London.

Jones believes the amendments to the scoring system, which will see head kicks score points as soon as any part of the foot makes contact, will play to her strengths at the Olympics.

She said: "The recent rule changes perfectly compliment my way of fighting because basically any sort of contact I make with my foot to their head will score me a point, before this was open to the judges as to the impact of the kick."
