Great Scott

Reigning world champion Giles Scott maintains control of the Finn fleet ahead of three-time Olympic gold medallist Ben Ainslie after a weather-affected day at the Sail for Gold regatta.

Heavy rain and a building breeze made it challenging for competitors and officials alike, but Scott continues to chase a repeat of his 2010 victory on the Olympic waters and won his fifth race of the regatta.

Only one race was able to take place in the heavyweight dinghy event, while Skandia Team GBR duo Luke Patience and Stuart Bithell enjoyed the conditions in the 470 event and consolidated second overall.

Hannah Mills and Saskia Clark sit fourth in the women's 470 class, while Alison Young continues to shine in the strong breeze and moved up to second in the Laser Radial.

Nick Dempsey is in third place overall in the RS:X fleet, while the three Paralympic class as well as the Star class were abandoned due to strong winds.
