Glover and Stanning among winners at British Championships

Olympic pairs champions Helen Glover and Heather Stanning were in winning form at the British Championships in Nottingham – winning the women’s four event with Zoe Lee and Jess Eddie.

Despite world pairs champion Polly Swann also lining up with her Leander Club four, the result never looked in doubt.

Elsewhere, double Olympic champion Andrew Triggs Hodge claimed victory in the men’s four with George Nash, Moe Sbihi and James Foad – eventually pipping men’s eight world champion Constantine Louloudis in the final 300metres.

"We had challenging conditions out there but we identified a couple of key points that we were going to hang our entire rhythm on and we managed to deliver on them much better in the final than we did in the heat and semi", said Triggs Hodge.

In the men’s double scull final Jonny Walton and John Collins clinched victory in an exciting climax – holding off Great Britain Rowing Team’s Charles Cousins and Pete Lambert.
