British number one Zoe Gillings hinted at what could come from her this season with a fifth-place finish in the opening round of the snowboard cross World Cup season in Montafon.
One of Great Britain's medal hopes for next year's Sochi Olympics, Gillings was in strong form in Austria, progressing comfortably through the quarter-finals and semi-finals.
And she put in another solid run in the final, crossing the line behind winner Eva Samkova of the Czech Republic while last year's World Cup champion Dominique Maltais took second ahead of Norway’s Helene Olafsen.
In the men's event, home favourite Markus Schairer took advantage of the absence of reigning world champion Alex Pullin to take victory.
Australian Pullin pulled out of the event with a stiff back and it was Schairer, fastest in qualifying, who laid down the first marker of the season.
He was followed by Italy's Omar Visintin in second while Kevin Hill completed the medal rostrum for Canada.
