GB Archer Naomi Folkard wins Silver in Vegas

GB's Naomi Folkard has won a silver medal at the World Indoor Cup Final in Las Vegas, part of the World Archery Festival. And there was a second Vegas bronze medal for Naomi Jones.

Naomi Folkard (pictured) lost in the final to Russia's Ksenia Perova, who pipped her to the bronze medal at last week's World Indoor Championships, which took place at the same venue.

For the second match running, Perova finished with three 10s, and despite some great shooting by Naomi - five 10s and seven 9s - the Russian was just too good again on the day, with eight 10s and four 9s to earn her a 6-2 victory.

But she will return home to step up preparations for the Olympic selection shoots in a confident mood, after fourth place finishes in Nimes last month, at the World Indoor Championships, and now this silver medal boost.

There was a second British medal at the World Indoor Cup event thanks to Edinburgh University's Naomi Jones.

She took bronze in the women's compound tournament, adding to the bronze she won in the team tournament - with Andrea Gales and Nichola Simpson - at the World Indoor Championships last week. Naomi also won the national indoor championship gold medal at Telford in December.
