Gallantree and Blagg win European diving bronze

Rebecca Gallantree and Alicia Blagg continued their impressive fledgling partnership claiming bronze at the diving European Championships.

The pair have enjoyed a strong 2013 - winning silver at the World Series in Edinburgh - but a bronze in the women's 3m synchro is the highlight and the first British springboard medal at the event in 53 years.

And British Diving high performance manager Kim White was happy with the overall medal return from Germany, following a silver for Tonia Couch and Sarah Barrow in the women's 10m synchro.

"We achieved our target of two medals, so we are pleased with the overall performances," said White.

"As well as the medals we also secured three top six positions and four top eights throughout the five days of competition.

"It was great to see the girls on the podium in the 3m synchro and in the 10m synchro. We knew with the Russians back in the 10m event it was going to be a tough final and I know they have more to give for the World Championships in Barcelona."
