Great Britain's Aimee Fuller warmed up for Sochi 2014 with a valiant display at her first ever X Games to finish seventh in the women’s snowboard slopestyle final on Saturday, which was won by Norway's Silje Norendal.
Her first-run score of 63.00 turned out to be her best as she failed to eclipse it with her second and third attempts, while Norendal only claimed the gold with her third and final run.
Jamie Anderson of the USA had produced a score of 95.66 from her first run which stood until the final run of her Norwegian rival but Norendal turned out a score of 96.00 thanks to some technical rail tricks.
Canada's Spencer O'Brien rounded off the podium in third after she produced a score of 94.00.
Anderson's silver was her ninth X Games medal in 11 appearances and is looking forward to entertaining the crowds in Russia at the Winter Olympics where snowboard slopestyle makes its debut.
"I hope they enjoy it," she said. "It’s so fun and creative and everyone has something else to bring to the table. I think it will be a good showing."
