In-form Porter claims second at New York Diamond League

Great Britain's Tiffany Porter claimed second place in the 100m hurdles at the IAAF Diamond League meeting in New York.

Porter clocked 12.81 seconds to finish behind Sharika Nelvis while Shara Proctor leapt to a season's best 6.72 metre to claim third in the long jump behind Canada's Christabel Nettey and American Tianna Bartoletta.

"Experience has taught me to never panic and remain patient. Special things are in store," said Porter.

Elsewhere, Lynsey Sharp and Jenny Meadows both recorded season's best in a hotly-contested 800m won by home hope Ajee Wilson.

Sharp ran 2:00.37 to claim sixth while Meadows was fractions behind in eighth, clocking 2:00.55.

Elsewhere, Shana Cox won the women's 400m B race and Isobel Pooley cleared a season's best 1.91 metre in the women's high jump, just outside the World Championships qualifying standard.
