Evans victorious in GB win

London 2012 silver medallist Freddie Evans was among the winners as Great Britain sealed a 4-1 victory over Italy in the World Series of Boxing.

Welsh fighter Evans, who lost to Serik Sapiyev in the final of the welterweight division at the Olympics, overcame Michel Tavares on points in a middleweight bout.

John Joe Joyce, Andrew Selby and Joe Ward also won, but John Joe Nevin, who won silver at the Olympics for Ireland, was beaten on points by Branimir Stankovic.

It was the Lionhearts' second win from two in Group B matches.
