Disappointment for British duo

It was a disappointing day for Great Britain's triathletes in Kitzbuehel as both Vicky Holland and Jodie Simpson dropped out of competition.

Holland opted to withdraw ahead of the run having found herself down the field after a technical problem on the bike, while Simpson dropped out injured during the run.

Switzerland's Nicola Spirig crossed the line first in a weakened field of 41, with British champion Helen Jenkings having opted not to compete.

Eight British men compete on Sunday, with the most notable inclusion being gold medal prospect Alistair Brownlee - back after tearing his Achilles four months ago.
