Day 5 Preview – Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games

Team GB’s gold medal winning triathlete Ben Dijkstra will hope to add to his success as he joins up with the other best young triathletes from Europe in the 4xmixed continental team relay.

Dijkstra, who won gold in a photo-finish on Monday, will be part of a Team Europe four including Emilie Morier (France), Kristin Ranwig (Germany) and Emil Deleuran Hansen (Denmark).

Sian Rainsley, who impressed with an eighth placed finish on the opening day of competition, will also race within a separate European four as the triathlon events come to a close at Nanjing 2014.

Also finishing on day five of the Games will be the opening event of the golf, with Robert MacIntyre currently in 13th position going into the final round eight shots off the front at the Zhongshan International Gold Club.

Team GB’s swimmers will continue their efforts in the pool with double silver medallist Jessica Fullalove looking to add to her haul in the 50m backstroke final and in the 4x100m freestyle event along with the recent of the squad.

Lulu Piovesana and Peter Miles are back in action in the judo as they take part in the mixed team event, while Hanna Brant will go in qualifying race eight of the single dinghy event after the success of winning race five today.

Rounding off Thursday’s action will be 17-year-old Zainub Akbar in the women’s trampoline. The competition’s qualifications and finals will both take place early in the morning, UK time, with the medals decided by 6.30am.
