Daley forced to sit out Grand Prix event with elbow injury

London 2012 bronze medal-winning diver Tom Daley has withdrawn from the Grand Prix in Fort Lauderdale with an elbow injury.

Daley had only returned to action since climbing the London 2012 podium last month when he claimed gold at a World Series event in Edinburgh.

And the 18-year-old had been hoping to build on this result in America as preparation for July’s Swimming World Championships in Barcelona.

However he has been forced to sit out the competition after suffering an elbow injury in training.

Daley will now be assessed ahead of two upcoming World Series events in Mexico later this month.
