Clattenburg gets Olympics call

Mark Clattenburg has been named as the only British referee at the London 2012 Olympic football tournament this summer.

FIFA have announced a total of 84 officials from 36 countries to officiate at the men's and women's tournaments.

Clattenburg, 37, from Co Durham, will have Stephen Child and Simon Beck as his assistants.

Howard Webb has been confirmed as taking charge of the Oman v Senegal play-off at Coventry City on Monday to decide the final men's Olympic berth.

Child is one of Webb's assistants along with Mike Mullarkey and Martin Atkinson is the fourth official.
