Christie adds second bronze in Seoul

Elise Christie added a second medal on the final day of the short track speed skating World Cup event in Seoul, adding another bronze medal in the 500m.

Just a week on from her fall in the 500m in Shanghai, the 24-year-old clocked a time of 44.116 seconds to finish behind China’s World Cup leader Kexin Fan and Korea’s Ji-Soo Jeon in third.

Christie, the world silver medallist over the 500m distance, had also picked up bronze in the 1000m on Saturday.

The two medals standing as her first World Cup successes this season despite having shown some consistent form.

Christie now lies in sixth place in the World Cup standings, with Seoul unsurprisingly providing her biggest points return so far.

There are two more World Cup events to come this season, as well as January’s European Championships, where Christie will seek to defend her 1000m title, and the World Championships in March.
