The British Olympic Association (BOA) has today announced Charlotte Kerwood as the eleventh and final athlete selected to represent Team GB in the sport of shooting at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
The Sussex based triple Commonwealth Games gold medallist, aged 25, will compete in the women’s trap event at the famous Royal Artillery Barracks in Woolwich this summer. London will be her second Olympic Games, having made her debut in Beijing four years ago.
The addition of Kerwood brings the total number of athletes officially selected to Team GB for London 2012 to 183 across fifteen sport disciplines: archery, athletics – marathon, badminton, boxing, canoe slalom, fencing, hockey, modern pentathlon, rowing, sailing, shooting, swimming, synchronised swimming, table tennis and taekwondo.
The athletes were formally nominated to the BOA for selection to Team GB by British Shooting, the National Governing Body for shooting in the UK.
