Mark Cavendish was full of praise for his Etixx-QuickStep teammates after the Manxman won a final-stage sprint to capture the Tour of Dubai title.
The 29-year-old had slipped four seconds behind German John Degenkolb heading into the final stage.
But Cavendish completed the 123-kilometre course in 2:37.15 hours for his second stage victory over the four-day event.
Degenkolb could only cross the line in ninth meaning Cavendish finished top of the pile, much to his delight.
"To win here is pretty special," said Cavendish. "We rode hard the whole week and in the final stage we really had to work. I'm super happy with our lads.
"I was a bit frustrated with the other teams. Most of the days we were the only team riding.
"They [other teams] came here but didn't really want to race. But here we really had to work."
