British duo taken to a decider

There was drama in the quarter-finals of the men's sprint at the Track Cycling World Championships in Melbourne as four-time Olympic champion Sir Chris Hoy and Jason Kenny, the defending world champion, were each taken to a decider.

A daring dive entering the final lap saw Hoy take the initiative from Robert Forstemann of Germany and a 1-0 lead but the German responded and held off a late charge from the Scot to level the last-eight duel by a whisker.

Beijing silver medal winner Kenny held off a charge from Kevin Sireau to go 1-0 up, before the Frenchman responded in the second match to make it 1-1.
