Britain's most successful Olympian Sir Chris Hoy insists he's not regretting his decision to retire - even if it means he won't race in the velodrome that bares his name.
Hoy won six Olympic gold medals but called time on his career last year, meaning he will watch the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow from the stands.
But he is predicting the glow of London 2012 will make the next fortnight one to remember.
"I would have loved to have been out there, obviously, but it's about being realistic and thinking with your head. I could see I wasn't going to be at my best," he told BBC Sport.
"I went to three Commonwealths, but this will blow them out of the water. That spirit and celebration of London is still there from the Games. There's definitely still an afterglow from London.
"People are crying out for another multi-sports Games to enjoy and to celebrate. Glasgow's going to take that and it's going to be spectacular."
