Johannah Leedham registered her highest points total so far at the EuroBasket however it wasn’t enough to help Britain’s women to victory in the first of their second-round games against the Czech Republic.
Leedham, who represented Team GB at the London 2012 Olympics, scored 12 and 14 points as Britain began their campaign with 76-68 and 69-56 first-round wins over Serbia and Latvia respectively.
The 25-year-old then hit 13 as Britain lost 79-47 to hosts France in their last match before progressing to the second round where they would face the Czechs and fall to a 66-55 defeat.
Leedham notched 20 points this time, with Kim Butler and Chantelle Handy also posting double figure scores, however the Czechs led themselves by 20 from Michaela Zrustova edged the Group F encounter.
Britain now have a day’s rest before their next clash with Belarus on Friday with their last second-round fixture against Croatia on Sunday and a top-four placing in Group F needed to make the quarter-finals.
