BOA Chairman Meets Chinese Counterpart in Beijing

Colin Moynihan, Chairman of the BOA is in Beijing today for meetings with Liu Peng, Executive President of the Beijing Organising Committee for the 2008 Olympic Games, President of the Chinese Olympic Committee and Minister of the General Administration of Sports in China. The pair are discussing a number of topics, including:

·        The forthcoming 2nd World Olympic Sports Convention to be held in Moscow in April to bring together the Olympic Movement and Ministers for Sport from around the world. Colin Moynihan chairs the Organising Committee for the Convention.

·        Preparations for the London 2012 Games and China’s close links with Leeds on a range of sporting initiatives.

·        The joint collaboration between the two National Olympic Committees on the delivery of sports legacies from hosting the Olympic Games.

·        Proposed revisions to the WADA Code. Today's meeting follows a previous meeting between the leadership of the two National Olympic Committees at the British Olympic Association's offices in Central London on 27th July 2011.
