Barr ends World curling campaign with seventh straight loss

Scottish skip Kerry Barr slipped to her seventh straight defeat the curling World Championships in Saint John.

Barr and her rink, who were surprise winners of the Scottish title last month, were beaten 8-4 by the USA and 10-5 by Korea in their final round robin matches.

They end the tournament ranked 11th of 12, with two wins and nine defeats.

Canada topped the standings with just one defeat and will now play Switzerland in the page 1 v 2 play-off.

Russia will take on the winner of a tiebreaker between Sweden and Korea in the page 3 v 4 play-off.

Olympic bronze medallist and defending world champion Eve Muirhead is missing from the line-up at the World Championships because the team trials were held during the Sochi Games.
