Baku 2015: Buller praises never give up attitude

Coach Nick Buller insisted Great Britain's under-17 women's water polo team needed to stay positive despite their opening match defeat at the European Games.

Greece are one of the top six teams expected to contest the medals in Baku and dominated Buller's youthful squad to win 20-2.

Danica Brazier scored twice for Team GB but Greece's top level international experience proved decisive, thanks to four goals from Milva Kalogerakou and hat-tricks from Silia Logotheti and Adamantia Doureka.

"This was what we expected from previous tournaments," said Buller.

"It was tough, but I was proud with how they kept going.

"What I look for from this team is passing and never giving up and that is what they showed."

However, it won't get any easier for Buller's team with Germany and then traditional water polo powerhouse Hungary their next matches. Hungary were 21-4 winners over Germany in their tournament opener on Friday.
